Julie Lopez Shoes- Work It
Julie Lopez Shoes- Work It by julielopezshoes

I love anything grey, but I must admit, last fall I got into a major rut of only pairing it with black, white, and other neutrals.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a classic combo, but my attire could have definitely benefitted from these Julie Lopez heels.
In a previous life, I worked at the corporate headquarters of a Fortune 500 company, and there was a woman on my floor whose every outfit was perfectly tailored yet effortless looking.  Each time she would walk down the hallway, I would discreetly stare, trying to glean some of her secrets to great style.  This is one of those outfits.

Burgundy is the New Black- The Classic
September 10, 2012
Part two in our breakdown of Fall’s hottest hue.  On the plate for today-
an outfit that will work for many years to come; we’re calling it The Classic.

Julie Lopez Shoes- Burgundy is the New Black- The Classic

If someone took a picture of you in this outfit and then showed it to you 20 years later, you’d still think you looked great.  Unless you blinked or something during the picture.  But then again, in 20 years we’ll probably have some futuristic photo app that will make your eyes look open, so you’re still good.
The best part about this outfit is that I’m betting you already have that khaki skirt and white button down sitting in your closet, and you probably feel like you’ve worn them both 487 times, but I’m telling you, add in these shoes and a few other key accessories, and it will feel like you’ve gained an entirely new wardrobe.

FAQs

Do I have to have a bunion to wear Julie Lopez heels? No! In the process of creating a heel that looks and feels great on the feet of women with bunions, we inadvertently got a bit more than we bargained for- a comfortable, fashionable heel for all women!

Why Italy? When we started drawing up the requirements we knew this shoe needed- expert craftsmanship, high quality materials, a pinpoint attention to details- all signs seemed to point to the Italians.  They have been world renowned shoe cobblers for hundreds of years, and we felt they were the best choice to help realize our vision.

I have a bunion and usually order a half size up to accommodate it.  What size should I order in your shoes?  We recommend ordering true to size, no need to size up or down.  Our patent-pending comfort technology was created specifically to allow the shoe to give and move with each woman’s unique feet.

Why did you start with pumps? My mom’s initial inspiration was to create the shoe that most women with bunions have the hardest time finding- the classic pump- the heel that works this year, next year, and every year after that.  She designed the first collection around this principle of beautiful classics that will be your go-to heels time and time again.

Erin, you’re so pale- are you sure you’re a Lopez? Yes 100% positive.  Sadly, we can’t all have the Sofia Vergara gene, but I’m learning to cope with that fact.

Got more questions?  Leave them in the comments section and I’ll answer to the best of my abilities.

Burgundy is the New Black
September 5, 2012
I have to give my mom (aka Julie Lopez, CEO and bosslady extraordinaire)
some credit.  You see, just like the fashion industry, decisions for shoes
regarding colors, materials, toe shapes, heel styles, etc. must be made
months and months before the shoes actually go on sale.

Back in February, she came back from an uber busy business trip to our
shoe factory in Italy just raving about burgundy, burgundy, burgundy.
“Just wait, it’s going to be huge this fall,” she told me, and I nodded,
although I had my doubts.
Talk about being wrong. Now whenever I open up any September fashion
issue, it looks like someone has spilled a massive bottle of cabernet, merlot,
or pinot noir all over the pages . . . and I’m liking what I’m seeing.
Especially when I think about using our Burgundy Carli to spice up any
fall outfit.
In honor of this season’s must have hue, I’ve put together a few outfits which
I’ll be sharing with you all over the coming days that I think pair beautifully
with our classic heels.  And, just like any good chef creating delicious food
and wine combinations, I’ve tried to include a lil’ something something for
every style palette, so please let me know what you think!

Burgundy with a Pop of Turquoise

Julie Lopez Shoes: Burgundy is the New Black

I am loving the addition of turquoise into this outfit, if I do say so myself.  I think the contrast of a cool tone brings out the richness of the burgundy and makes it look so luxe.

This outfit is also a bit lighter, which works well for those of you like me who live in climates where we’re still a few months away from colder weather, and for those of you living in places where crisp, beautiful fall mornings are right around the corner, a) I’m jealous, and b) layer in a camel peacoat for some added warmth and you’ll be the definition of simple chic.
And while we’re on the color camel, our Camel Charlotte heel would also be fifty shades of perfect with this outfit. And it would go with nearly everything you already own.  Just sayin’.
Stay tuned for more burgundy bliss, and in the meantime, leave me a comment and tell me how YOU will be wearing burgundy this fall!

Welcome to the Blog!
September 4, 2012

I’ve been thinking about creative first posts for the past month, and it’s not nearly as easy as I thought it would be.  It’s like one of those get to know you situations during college orientation or the first day of a new job- I know my name, I know my hometown, I know the requisite “interesting” facts about me, but somehow when it’s my turn to introduce myself, it’s like I’m being asked to recite the Preamble to the Constitution (is it by the People or of the People or for the People?), and I get oh so nervous.

So here’s what I came up with to introduce myself to you all:

“Hi”

Good opening line, right?  I thought about an exclamation point, but wasn’t sure if it made me seem overly excited, so I put a period, then I thought that made me look cold, so now I’m just leaving it unpunctuated.  I’m hoping that will make you all think I’m super fun and really nice, albeit slightly socially awkward.

Here are the facts: My name is Erin, and I’m the Communications/PR/Social Media/Whatever else is on the plate for the day person for the Julie Lopez shoe collection.  Most importantly, I get to work for the most amazing woman I know: my mom.

And as the dynamic mother-daughter duo that we are, we’ve been stylin’ and profilin’ for quite some time:

Check out those blue shoes

Fast forward a few years and I’m almost a grown-up, my mom and I have both discovered hair straighteners,

At my sister’s wedding (aka the night my mom got fed up with traditional heels and decided it was time to start her own line)
and I officially have the job of my dreams: helping women look and feel as fabulous as they are.
I bought a notepad the other day with a quote from Marilyn Monroe at the top: “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” As I was checking out, the lady at the cash register looked at the notepad and smiled at me, “Ain’t that the truth.”
(Side Note: I live in Houston, so I’m telling you in advance, there will be lots of Texas and Southern-isms on this blog.)
But she was right- a great pair of shoes can make an outfit, make your day, and bring out beauty and confidence in every woman. And it is my mom and I’s belief that this feeling should be available to all women- even those who have bunions.
So we’re embarking on this journey to spread the word about Julie Lopez and her fabulous shoes, and I’ll be here blogging every step of the way.  My mom will tell you that I can talk to a brick wall, but I much prefer speaking with actual human beings, so please leave me your comments, questions, shoe quotes, whatever you fancy- I can’t wait to hear from you!
