X I wore my new teal Gracie's twice this week.  I have typically avoided any shoe with over a 2.5" heel or a thin heel as finding one comfortable enough to wear all day was a challenge.  I work uptown, and park about 3 blocks from my office, so my shoes MUST be walkable.  First thing on the elevator, I got a compliment on my shoes, followed by 3 more that day.  Then, I had a business event Tuesday night, and the next day an attendee said "you looked like a model last night, very stylish.”  I can assure you my outfit had been worn several times prior, plus my 50+ year old face and figure did not get any younger, so the only thing to attribute "you look like a model" to was more height and heels (which I have avoided previously). So maybe this heel thing is what my life has been missing? :-)  Joleen, North Carolina

X I just wanted to tell you how thrilled I am with the Edie ballet flats I ordered. I’ve never been able to find a delicate, dressy ballet flat that I could wear without (a) having it cut right into you-know-where or (b) having my foot distort the shoe to the point that it just looked terrible. The design of these things is genius. They almost make my foot look dainty (which it decidedly is not). Also, the quality is exceptional for the price, rivaling the level of craftsmanship I’ve seen in very high end designer shoes — shoes that I couldn’t wear even if I could afford them. So I applaud you for your decision to sell online only in order to keep prices reasonable. Now…you must stay in business forever! Stephanie, New York

X The Emma pumps arrived yesterday, and they’re perfect! The size is just right. I cannot tell you how far and wide I’ve searched for a plain dress pump with a slender heel and a vamp that’s cut low enough in the front to make one’s legs look (reasonably!) long but not so low that they cut right into the problem area. I’ve gone to the big shoe-shopping websites and scrolled through page after page of shoes just saying, “No, no, no”…because at this point I can pretty much tell by looking what isn’t going to work. You might find a few pair that will be OK, but they’re just too dowdy. These, on the other hand, are fantastic! Just really artfully and carefully designed, and very beautifully made. I have relatively few glamorous events in my life, but that actually makes it more important to have a dressy shoe I can rely on, one that isn’t going to kill me after 45 minutes.
